What is the largest size tire I can run on a 95 2wd Ram 3500?

I know for sure a 235/85/16 will fit, but thinking maybe doing a 265/75/16. Not sure if the duals will fit though??

285/75/16 would be nice, but that is too wide for a 6" wide wheel really.

The truck has a 1.5" lift in the front and 1" in the back.

With 4.10 gears, 5 speed and the small tires it really screams doing highway speeds.

285/60-18's fit on a 2wd lowered about 6" in the back, im sure you can fit 35's in the rear easily

315/75/16 ain't going to work on a 6" wide wheel, nor would it fit in the back, the 2 duals would hit against each other.

I think the 2500s have 6.5" wide wheels though? I know my 98 did.

I am thinking a 285 is getting a bit wide for a 6" wheel, though without mounting a tire, hard to really say. Tire company is saying 7.5-9" wheel is ideal.

I have to ship in the tires, so rather not order a bunch of sizes to see what works.

It says 3500 in the first post. You could run 2 inch spacers and do 285/75s I have them all around on my 2500 2wd.

I cant really say, I have the later 2nd gen wheels which I think are 7" wide. I know dually guys run them frequently. Do you tow heavy?

Don't tow at all with it, just using it at a daily driver and beater truck duties. I use my 98 2500 to tow.

Kinda thinking to do a 265 to save the hassle of needed spacers or maybe even new wheels. Trying to keep the $$ into this truck to a minimum.

You should be fine with some spacers and lower tires pressures but double check with the specific tires you buy.

255/85/16's worked pritty good to help out the 4:10 gears on the rear of my 3500 2x4, but looked a little neckish. Finally found a 3:55 rear & went back to 235's.
I put 17'' 3rd gen wheels & 255/80/17 BFG KM2's on my 3500 4x4 ...these work very well, quiet, & really help the ride quality over the 235's.

Think it's going to be either one of these. Not sure if the 265 would fit on the rear without rubbing together???

265/75R16

Read the first and 2nd lines of my post :owned: :hehe:
Don't use the :owned: smiley to refer to your own post. Against the rules.

I was gonna say if RPM drop is your goal go with the 255s

Only company that makes a 255/85 that I can get is BFG in the KM2 tire. Expensive and terrible on wet roads, snow and ice, so not interested in that tire.

I'm going with the Goodyear Duratrac, been running them on my other truck and they are great!
