I was looking at the rules for some pulling associations, and on the bigger classes require a 3-way dump valve. What exactly is it/what does it do? Or more importantly how does it work? Lastly where can you purchase one, or can one be fabbed up out of common parts? Thanks

It dumps the fuel. Instead of just stopping the fuel supply.

The valve that Tom showed there is very similar to what I am running. I picked mine up from Sumit though but found out later that the ones Sumit sells (Barry Grant) are made for Carberated engines are different than the Hilborn Injection units. The valve body and all parts are identical its just the actual center inside valve is clocked 180 degrees on the Barry Grant unit.

With the carberator setup in the setup where the fuel is to go to the carb..the valve is still open that drains back to the tank. This is so with high full pressure spikes you don't blow the needles in the carb.

With the Fuel injection unit the fuel is either going right to the injectors or right back to the tank.

I found out the hard way that mine didn't work but figured out if I pulled the pin on the lever and rotated the valve 180 degree's and put it back together it then was like the injection unit. So if your buying one save the time and hassle and just buy the one from Hilborn Injection.

Hopefully that makes a little bit of sense!

I will take some pictures of mine sometime when I get around to it and post it.It is a pretty trick setup as I am running two -8an lines into a areoquip Y-Block then the valve in a -12an hose then back into another y-block splitting the fuel back into 2 -8an lines going to my two ports on my pump for my dual feed.

I have a pressure regulator that retrurns to the tank, just after it is a shut off valve, when I shut the valve off pressure builds and then is released by the pressure regulator back to the tank.

So you have an adjustable bypass regulator?

Thanks, for all the info, very helpful. Trying to get things lined up as pulling is going to begin hot and heavy in a month. It was just one last thing before the truck is ready.

BBD Not going to highjack the thread I just wanted to tell you that ther are some pic of a few parts of the 2 wd in my gallery.

Not to get off the subject but ? for 2wdpuller how did you modify that ati damper to fit? Or does ati make a damper for a Cummins. I have them on my gasser works nice.

I got 2 of them from Doc Per.They had the hub in them for the cummins.I,m making a tone wheel for the front to run the tac.they didn't have one for the stock pickup yet.The have them for Duramax and powerstrokes to.
