Hey Guys,

So Im fixing to do something Turbo related on my 04.5. Ive messed with quite a few turbos on 5.9's, but never the ED with the 68 turbine. Ive read some pretty rave reviews on it.

My truck has 3.73's and 37" tires, auto, and when I'm towing (which is pretty frequently) I gross ~22Klbs. I also live at ~5200' altitude and tow anywhere from 4400' to 10K' alt. I also dont want to hurt my already horrible fuel mileage any more than I have to (I know...probably asking to much). All I have for fuel right now is a smarty. Might consider EFI when it comes out and gets proven. When the injectors take a dump, I will probably Jump to 50's. That's about as far as I will ever take this truck.

Ive had twins (35/3b) and singles (62/71, t-netics stage 1, dodgezilla, 62/65, 64/65, etc) before, and while I think my answer lies in a twins setup, there is something about a single that twins cant replicate. For some reason Ive always found singles to be more fun to drive. And the simplicity/reliability factor of the single is also nice. Ive driven Joe D's 04 with the R700's, and it was nice...but I didn't get to tow with it. I dont think the 62/71 will light like i want it geared the way I am. The turbonetics worked well, but was totally not fun and seemed to make the truck feel lathargic. Also, this is the first auto Ive had.

To make my question simple, if I stuck my wife in my truck with my 5th wheel with the buggy behind, yanked my gauges out, and told her to tow it to over decent passes up to ~10K' altitude and what not, which of these three setups would be more fool proof and reliable?

62/68-13 or 14

351/s475

351/s480...

Any suggestions?

351 s475 gets my vote for what you are doing. Spool is same as stock and egts never go over 1250-1300 on a wot run to 100+

I run a he351 and a gt4202wg. Its quick and supports a decent amount of power. I did 644hp and 1345trq. The egts were under 1350 and the boost is set to 55psi. It tows very nice and runs clean.

Call ED. Tell them everything you told us in that first post, and they will get you what you need. They are great people to work with.
