3rd gear grinding nv5600

So lately my transmission out of the blue started catching teeth on upshifts and refuses to downshift unless i am almost stopped in to third gear. Only has 62000 miles on it. What gives? Its the only gear it has a problem with. Was gonna try a fluid change but wondering if i should just bite the bullet and assume its a syncro and rebuild it. I can get a master rebuild kit for 589 bucks that includes all bearings seals and syncro rings. What ya guys think?

i'm in the process of rebuilding one now that had the same issue and got the master rebuild for $577 shipped.

definitely a synchro. I had the same prob with 2nd in a 4500. Get new synchros and blockers
