Bell housing is different on a Diesel 47RE than a gas, so I would assume the 46RE would have a gas pattern.

I've got a engine for a conversion into a Nissan patrol that was a manual but no transmission for it and there is a ATS transmission here with a standalone controller for $1200 dollars that's never been used.

By 46re are you are talking about the a518 non-lockup trans with overdrive found behind the later first gens?

OK so your putting a 5.9 into a Nissan? And you found a ATS for 1200. that is a 46RE ? Or a 48re ATS to put in place of a 46re?

I wouldn't think the older 518 overdrive trannys would require a standalone controller. You will need a diesel or V-10 transmission, since bolt pattern is different than V-8 gas. The V-10 may have different governor related parts, unless it's all controlled by computer.

Yes it apparently has 48re internals.
