Well, I'm pretty sure my 47Re (I think? It's a 99) is toast or the converter is toast. Here's what's going on...

When going from "P" to "R" you can feel the tranny "jerk" as it catches gear. All seems fine In Reverse.*

When you go from park to D 1 2 3 or from reverse to D123 there is no catch or feeling that it's going in gear. If I get onto it, it will finally start to move but you can tell there is major slip.*

On the hwy it will constantly search for a gear, grab launch forward all of a sudden, slip slow way down, or what feels like a downshift and the motor will rev way up. At 60mph I'm turning almost 3k just to keep it going.*

Pulled up to a relight earlier and felt the truck start to stall out. Like the TC was locked and wanted to kill it out. Put it in N and it idled fine.*

I'm not sure if this is just a burnt up TC or entire tranny toasted. What do you guys think?*

Probably lost your rear clutch pack, or in the process of.

When's the last time you serviced it? Almost sounds like valvebody its loose with low pressure... And that would cause the rear clutch pack not to grab..
But either way you need s built Trans to handle the power its going to take to beat that 6.7

Could be a few things. Ive had the speed sensor in the OD unit start to freak out and it did all kinds of crazy crap. Although its not a real likely culprit, i would try a $20 speed sensor and pull the pan to check for material as well.

I'm going to put fresh fluid it in this weekend and see if that fixes it. The old fluid smelled horrible and was dirty dirty looking. Also a good bit of shavings on the magnet in the pan.

I'm just not dead set on it being something major as it just happened "overnight" and not all of a sudden driving down the road or something. Not to mention reverse works fine but all 3 forward gears aren't

Hope your new POS works better than the old one LOL

Was there any big chunks? If the trans oil isnt bad but has never been changed and the magnet is just fine particles it may not be junk...
