does any body know if you can put a resistor on the wire for the 47re lock up switch like on the 48re's? thanks twigg

You can wire in the lockup switch on the 47re and it does the same as the 48re... What resister would you put on the wire?

Lavon

thats what i am trying to figure out, has anyone done this?

put the resistor in the wire that you are switching to ground. if i recall it was something like 55ohm

Whoa? You just T into the orang/black tracer wire and run to a ground and add the switch. Then the relay gets by-passed.

me and a couple buddys were woundering if instead of by-passing the relay you put a resister in like on the new 48re's

yes it works the same. use the resistor and you dont have to pull the trans relay and dont get a check engine light.

explain how to do this or wheres a thread on how to? Just got a 24v auto and want to do the lockup switch.

tap a wire into the black&orange wire coming off the pcm...run that wire to a switch inside the cab and another wire from the switch to a ground...take out the trans relay and replace it with a jumper wire

ok we ended up hooking it up with a jumper wire in place of the relay we were just woundering at the time if we could use a resistor. thanks guys

Will it set a check engine light when the switch is engaged? Also does it work normally when the switch is off?

The only time I heard of a resistor for the trans. is for bypassing the stock trans. temp sensor.
