Have a 2001 3500 dodge diesel auto. problem truck shifts and drives perfect when not towing. When I hook my camper to it this is what happens, takes off in 1st and will shift ok all the way to OD. Then when I stop for a traffic signal it wont shift to 1st or 2nd. I can manually shift to 2nd but not 1st. If I turn off engine it will reset and do the same thing again. When I unhook trailer all is good again.WHY?

Due to extra heat in Trans.. I think you are looking at a governor pressure solenoid and transducer...
I probably should have added that this problem will occur even before complete warm up. also tranny rebuilt 7000 mile s ago.

Did they replace sensors or just clutches and seals?
Everything replaced upgraded valve body billet TC new clutches sensors. Plus had sensors replaced again 1000 miles ago. I am going to pull my trailer in a few days without trailer plugged in. not far not too fast to see if it could be electrical.
