OK, how strong are 47re transmissions? I know everybody bad mouths Dodge transmissions but I abused my 48re for 50,000 miles. I also know they're different animals.

I'm just wondering if a transmission that's rebuild to factory specs will work in a daily driver tow rig with minor mods or should I have it beefed up before installing.

They can be made very strong by a good builder such as goerend too name one. Also if you got it out at least put a shift kit and better converter in.

I would put a converter, valve body, billet servo cover, and billet 2nd gear apply lever and strut with a stock rebuild and it will live a long happy life in a near stock truck!

Yes it will take decent abuse with those mods, might replace all of the pistons with billet, they aren't that expensive to do.
