Hey guys and gals. I am having issues getting the tail stock back onto the trans. I can see at the very back of the tail stock it is splined to slide onto the output shaft how ever where it is splined has spun. Its two seperate pieces both the same but one has shifted and now the splines do not line up causing the tailstock to not slide onto the tranny all the way. I am wondering what I can do to get these splines to line back up so I can get my truck back together.

Trans is just a stock 47re 4wd and truck is a 2002.

Thanks in advance for all your help. I am very eager to get this sorted out!

Sorry I had a buddy typing this as I was still fiddling around with it under the truck. So here what I have done with it. I put in my spare tranny but needed the of housing off the one I removed from the truck. So now I can not get it to slide back in to the new one or even the one it came off of for that matter. The splines at the very rear of the housing have spun. They almost look like a bearing but are splined for the shaft. I need to be able to spin one back around only about a 16th of an inch. Its just shifted just enough to be a real p.I.t.a. I have tried just about everything I can think of to get these splines to line back up with each other and have had no luck. Again looking forward to you help guys.

Normally you have to press the spring inside the direct pack and line the splines up with a spare intermediate shaft or the tool they sell for them.
