I just bought a truck off a friend of mine and am having some issues with the trans and it not wanting to shift when it should
If you take off in 1st gear it will not shift at WOT, it will rev to 3400 and then when I let off it takes a second and then shifts into second. 2-3 gear is the same thing and it wont shift unless you back off the throttle. Then once its in 3rd if you have it floored sometimes it will kick back down into 2nd gear.
What can be causing this? I'm new to the whole diesel world so bare with me.
The truck also did the same thing for him
It used to have a convertor lock up switch that he removed, could that be causing the problem?
Truck is an 01 with 207000 miles. Has Air dog 150, Edge Comp Box, A j hook looking thing on wastegate, BHAF, 4" Exhaust, A billet convertor(Not sure on brand), And unsure of any other trans work. He didnt know it had trans work done then I bought it and sent a picture of the convertor to my friend and he confirmed it was a billet unit. I believe it has trans work done because it doesnt slip with the edge on 5x5. Also it has a trans temp gauge and ive never seen it over 175*
Thanks for any input
