47rh/converter clearence.

Do you mean that the face of the converter is sticking out of bell housing? If so then it is not in all of the way IIRC it should recess in about 1-1.5in.
 
You should have at least .080 clearance between the converter and the flex plate when the converter is unbolted and pushed towards the trans.
