I am just about done with the swap, and when I sized up my driveshaft yesterday, it wasn't even close. When in position to seat on the D70 (I know, I know...), the slip yoke didn't even touch the transfer case. My guess is it needs to be about 5 inches longer. From what I gathered by searching, I will need a DHD slip yoke from a truck's driveshaft that had a DHD, correct? When I test fit mine, it slid in nice and snug though, which now after reading, doesn't make much sense at all. I figured it wouldn't even work. Does this all sound right? I found some info searching but just want to double check before I start parts shopping to finish this, thank you. Truck is a RCLB for what it's worth...

I don't see an edit button so I'll be brief. Was reading Quad4x4.com and looks like some DHDs had a 1-5/8" 31spline output, and others had a 1-3/8" 32spline output. The ID tag is in place stating DHD, and it has the PTO port on it, so I'd guess that the DHD is one of the unlucky ones with the smaller output shaft, which I guess coincidentally is the same shaft as the DLD cases. Guess I just answered my own question, should have searched better prior to posting.

EDIT: here is where I got this info...
