Is this the same one you had for sale on another thread were it was in the truck?

Yeah, same tranny, no tc or flex plate.

It came off my truck but I had put in another stock tranny in it when I sold it.
It has zero miles since it was rebuilt.

If you need a tc or flex plate that's no problem.

I am selling it like this so that if someone has a tc already without a built unit they can drop this one in.

Did this ever sell? Bottom dollar price? And where are ya located if your not too far I'll come get it. You said it can easily convert to 4wd?

Great guy to work with. Richard hooked me up with a fully built manual valve body 47rh/48re. It's on its way to me shortly. He has answered all of my auto newb ?'s.

The trans from the ad is now in my truck if you want to get ahold of him about building a trans I could pm you his number.

What's the deal with manual valve bodies ?
Can I put one on my truck and just remove the standard shift lever and go to a b& m ratchet shifter or something ?

I'm running a full manual valve body because my truck was a 6 speed and I didn't want to swap all the ecu and wiring harnesses.

You can get a manual VB for the RE transmissions if you truck is automatic already. In Dixon's case, he did a six speed to auto conversion but no PCM/ECM was being transplanted. For his truck a 47RH was used and the ECM will be or is flashed with a manual truck program.

Your trans is a 47RH.

I thought it was a 47re front case with 48re guts and a 47rh tail housing?

Ok so if I want the full manual valve body on my 48re on my 05 would I need to flash my truck to manual truck tune ? What about controlling the valve body , since it doesn't have any cables . Would it just be better to go to a 47re for simplicity ? If hate to do that since I just had my tranny gone through

I believe you're over complicating the crap out of this. My truck was a manual and I swapped in this trans that's why mine is different. All you have to do is change the whole valve body and change the shifter. Your trans shifts with a cable it runs from the column down to the left side of the trans.

Yep, that is what you have. But it is hydraulic governor not electronic. RE denotes electronic governor.

Right idea but a bit complicated.

First, get a constant pressure valve body manual VB. This will avoid having to use a kick down cable. Flash the truck with a manual program. Get a good shifter and add two switches to control OD and TCC lockup. This is the setup I would use for a 48re truck. Unlike Dixon, your truck is already automatic. Less for you to do.

Ok so what shifter would work for my truck ? Is there one made for converting to a manual valve body or do I have to fab something up ?

How would it work with the display on the dash , would it just say park all the time and not have any back up lights anymore ?
