48re to 47rh

ok so the 48re went out on my dads truck and i am selling mine. so i am contemplating selling him the trannt out of my truck. there are just 2 big issues. his is a 48re and mine is a 47rh, so what do i need to do to make that work? and also mine is a 2wd and his is a 4x4 so what needs to happen to be able to hook mine up to the transfer case.

It will be cheaper and easier to get the 48 rebuilt.

really? i thought ive heard of people using 47rh's in commonrail swaps before...

By all means fix the 48RE and don't swap the 47RH. He has the better trans and you will have less headaches. What's wrong with your pops tranny?

he blew it up. he has a smarty and a stock tranny and tows with it....

Just rebuild the 48RE.

so it would cost less to build up the 48re versus swapping the tailhousing on my built 47rh for a 4x4 tailhousing?
