48RE valve body

I dropped the valve body from my 05 dually today for a separator plate swap. My accumulator piston and outer spring popped out as I was dropping the valve body. I cannot find my inner spring. I am assuming there should be one there, am I correct?

there's no inner spring on the 48re accumulater only the large spring on the bottom between the piston and valve body

Thanks! Thought I was losing my mind. Any upgrades I should do while I'm in there ?

you could go back with a billet 4 ring accumulater , I would also recommend a sonnax servo cover with the o-ring and billet strut and anchor while you have the valve body out all these parts can be had for around $120
