ok, My buddy was going across his farm in four low when he heard a pop. He stopped took it out of 4 wheel drive it disengaged fine, and if you put in four wheel drive it still works. The problem is the four wheel drive light always stays on two wheel drive and four anyone can help?

Check the vac lines going to the CAD, they will come off and the front axle will not unlock 4wd indicator will not go out until it does. They run from the T case to the front axle, soft line is only at the ends.

On the pop? No clue, but he might want to check fluid colors in a bit to see if something broke.

i have a similar problem except mine stays off it goes in fine but wont light up the light however if u make a hard pull with it in 4 high it will flicker on and off

We took the lines off, and light still on? I don't think it is still locked maybe a short somewhere?

The lines need to be on the fittings to make it come out of 4wd. Now, are you sure the front axle is disengaging? If the vac switch on the T case gets stuck or fails it will constantly supply vacuum to the front axle keeping it engaged, once it is engaged it will stay that way. Easy way to check is jack up the passenger side and try to rotate the wheel, see if the front driveshaft turns. The pop could have been the CAD screwing up, or it could have been in the T case, either would keep the 4wd light on but not make it feel like the truck is still in 4wd.

Another thing to check is the switch itself, it could be stuck, take a meter and see if you have continuity across the two prongs.

hitingon> Sounds like you have a bad switch in the CAD that is making intermittent contact.
