All you need to swap is tail housing right?

For instance....

Could I swap a 2wd rh tail housing to a 4wd re trans?

Since I can't edit....

Or I've heard this done before, is there a way to use a billet 4wd output shaft in a 2wd trans?

lol, the truck is a 2wd. I'd be getting a 4wd trans and putting it into a 2wd truck. Need to know for sure if the rh housing/shaft will swap with the re trans. And also how to do the billet output for the 2wd.

I think the suncoast 2wd output setup is the best thing going right now.

Yeah, I saw something about them too, but I can't find it on the site.

EDIT: Unless this is it: Sun Coast Diesel TransmissionsDodge Billet Output Shaft for the 2X Short Tail Housing 1994-2007 | Catalog Products | Sun Coast Diesel Transmissions

I don't know what the "2x short tail housing" is though

EDIT: Found the "2x short tail housing" Sun Coast Diesel TransmissionsDodge 618 Short Tail Housing to Convert a 4X to a Tough 2X | Catalog Products | Sun Coast Diesel Transmissions

I guess 2x is their way of saying 2wd. Guess I'm a little slow.

I would guess it's like the shorty kit for the glides. I made a shorty kit for a turbo 350 using a four wheel drive trans. It would be just the stub shaft sticking out of the od.
