gona try and lower the front of a 2005 4x4 whats the best way, read somewhere that someone cut the factory coils down and heated the end to get the factory bend back in them. Is this a good idea?

I dont think it is a good idea to ever heat the springs. The best way is to call coilsprings.com but, barring that, you would cut the coils with a grinder (not a torch) and then put them back in

i was going to cut with cut off wheel i read somewhere that somene said to place coil in water up to the top of where u want to bend the coil then heat that part to make the bend where it sits in the coil bucket, that not a good idea either???

heard of people using gasser springs, maybe some one will chime in nowing more about this.

I got mine from coil spring specialties, lowered and changed the spring rate for about $200.00

What information did you need to provide for them to do this? I have been contemplating this for some time, but didn't want to get on the phone and not be prepared with the information they'd need.

It was pretty simple, I thought they'ed want more info than they did, they told me what they could and couldn't do with regard to spring rate and I made the final decision, just a guess in the end, didn't want to totally ruin my DD. have been happy with my decision all the way, give them a call (785) 437-2025

You have any pics? I have been looking at this for some time too. Did you change anything else? Control arms? Shocks?

Sorry I dont really have any pics that really show anything pertinant, control arms are stock, shorter shocks in the future, it hits the bump stops but I have gotten used to it or modified my driving habits or a combination of the two because it doesn't seem to catch my by surprise or piss me off anymore
