It's funny, My father got one but I did not....
I sold my 53 blocked 99 about 6 months ago.

My brothers 99 is in my fathers name still, Maybe that's why.

500 is a start and better than denying an issue like they have for years. They expect everyone to prove the dates and miles though so its gonna be a cheap deal for them. Ill just advertise the issue by posting the 3 cards on my shop bulletin board.

The only winners are the lawyers. You aught to be able to turn in a cracked block to Dodge and get reimbersed.

Basically if you didn't have a shop do the work to document the miles, then you're screwed? My truck would qualify, but I haven't got a card yet (so I can't see the more detailed info on the website.)

that would be sweet if I hadnt just tossed them in the scrap trailer all these years. Id just trade them in on a new truck even up.

We got 3 of the notices today. You are correct. The lawyers are the only ones making out on this! What a joke! $500 for a $5k+ repair!

Better to stay away from lawyers and lawsuits..... if we handle ourselves as ladies and gentlemen and settle things amongst men, we'll be better for it!!

Got one today aswell. Be nice if they made it more of a complete engine recall and just let the customer take the truck to a dealer and get a brand new engine (turbo to VP, valve cover to oil pan) installed for free with out all the legal hassel.

Got the card today. I have a 54. It still is a joke. Cummins should pad the pockets of the people with the pink slips not the pink ties.

got mine today, if it cracked tom they prob wouldnt honor mine, being bored, w/dif pistons, injectors, head, grooves, 14mm studs, dif cam. they would find some way to weasel out of it. big companies always do no matter if they are wrong.

If you read the notice, Cummins is denying the problem. I once asked someone at Cummins why they never recalled the 53 blocks. The answer was: "The casualties are measured by the failures while under warranty verses the total number blocks in service. The overall percentage is low due to the mass quantity of blocks."
