53 block identification

I am going to look at a 99 24V tomorrow and was wondering where you have to look to see if the truck has the 53 block? Is it easy to see if you know where to look? Any help would be appreciated. And if it does have the 53 block should I avoid buying it?

Bottom left driver side of the block..behind the power steering pump..the number is about an 1 inch tall

I wouldnt let a 53 block keep me from buying a truck I like. Thats just me though.

Its easier to see with a creeper and a flash light, sometimes oil build up makes it harder to see, especially if the pin of death came loose or any other area related leak.

I agree... mine is a 53 block with over 220,000 miles on it. over 500hp and still no crack on the block :ylsuper:
