6.7 Gauges and warranty ?

Friend of mine just bought an 08 6.7. The other day he went into the dealer for something and asked them about putting on an EGT gauge and they told him if he did it would void his warranty. Anyone know if they can legally do that considering the gauge in no way affects performance of the truck?

No they can not void his warranty, to do that they have to prove that the part he installed caused the problems. If he drills the manifold to install the sensor and the manifold cracks they can deny the warranty on that.

if they are being dicks about tell him just to get an edge insight, it uses the factory egt probes on the truck I think correct me if I am wrong

i just put the egde in my truck and it came with an egt prob. you can measure the intake air temp with the edged though.

Careful tell him that if he farts in the driver seat it will void the warrenty. Gauges shouldn't void the warrenty but some dealers can be real dics.
