Has anyone had issues with the #6 injector line. Mild-Steel. .084

Truck has been running great. But, not long after I finished I had an issue with a fuel leak on the number six line at the head. Couldn't see well enough to tell where the leak was forming. I put a wrench on the line and it was a bit loose. I tightened up and haven't had an issue until today. I smelled diesel fuel, and found it was leaking again there. Put a wrench on it, and it was nice and tight. Thought maybe it needed a hair more and that didn't help. I pulled the line completely off and I can't see any place where it may be leaking.

What are some common problems with these lines?

TIA

Ray

Im having the same problem, would be interested to know also.

Chris,

That was my thought. Just didn't want to own up to it since they aren't cheap a line at a time either.

I'll call PDP tomorrow and place an order.

Thanks!

Yep there is a thread in here about the #6 fuel line. If i remember right he replaced them all and no more problems. He also said it was cheap.

Have you tried swapping connector tubes from a non leaking cylinder? it's possible the connector tube is nicked... also try to lightly sandpaper the fuel line to get off any debris so it seats better (check for mushroomed tip) LOL... Upon install, I try to wiggle the line a bit to help it seat..

I have .084 MS lines, no leaks...

I haven't tried that. I got a new line in the mail, and installed last night. Let truck run. Had residual fuel from the swap. After the drive to work this morning, no fuel leaking. Line is dry. If the leak does come back, I'll swap the tubes out. The other five are dry as a bone. Thanks for the tip. I wiggle them as well. Glad I'm not the only one.

:Cheer:

How many insulators do you have on your lines? Reason I ask is that #6 on my current lines has the most vibration of all of them. Which in my head means it is most likely to crack due to the vibration. Do you have your old VP44 lines still or did you scrap them already? I know im going to be putting a few insulators from the VP lines on my P24V lines to prevent this.
