Right now i am running the current twin setup which is an hx35 over an s475 and i have them pushed to the max making just over 550 hp at the wheels. Wanna put an s300 on top and get rid of my Hx35. Wondering if it would be worth the extra 250 bucks for the 14 cm housing or if the 12 would be plenty for my 650 hp goal. Also gonna be doing a cam at the same time so just wondering what everyones opinion. Also wanna keep the lightning fast spoolup i have now which is right around 1350 rpm when she lights now. Any input appreciated...

i have one with the .80/14cm housing and running it as a single and i would say its dang near the same spool up as the stockers.

IMO you should not be maxed out at 550hp with that setup, did you modify the internal wastegate of the HX35? If you are set on changing though I would say 12cm if you tow often 14cm if you don't.

I think he's maxed out due to his HO VP...at least I think that's what I remember reading.

Nope Ive got an SO pump on there. Last run on the dyno with everything on kill and an intercooler cooled with co2 i made just over 575 before that it was at 553. Talked with source and they said an S300 is whats needed next if i want to move up. HX35 small turbine wheel and housing is not letting it breathe enought to make more power. It never gets hot but i could only get max power with my quadzilla on level 5.

My bad. I knew you had an HO before...didn't know you swapped.

I think you are on the right track - it definitely sounds like you have more fuel. The 14 would be better for top end, but if you want it lighting quicker, the 12 is more cost effective than the 13 IMO.

13ss will have better cooling then the 14 and spool like the 12...its well worth the extra money

I don't buy it.

There was a guy on here for several years,... RC Cox and he ran a hx35 over a HT3B and was in the 800s. 550hp??!!! NOT!

I disagree......

that's what they all say

but after testing both the 13ss & the 16ss

with extensive testing on my truck has proven

stainless housings are not what there are stacked up to be

i bet if you cut 1 in half you would see some serious design flaws

maybe it's just the 65mm turbine is too small >? 68 or 71 seems to be the "magic" route

Use a better wheel for flow than the 11 bladed 65 and stuff it in the small housing with a manifold and turbine blanket. Great spool, good flow, cost effective and reliable. Chris
