64/71/13ss what size injectors

Ok fellas Im trying to think of what size injectors to go with.
Question for the Flux guys, would Flux 2.1's be rated at like 110's??
Thats what size im thinkin....
Id like to be as close to 650hp as possible with whats in my sig and then tune things down to be able to tow fairly heavy when needed and keep EGT's in check.
Ill have a Floor It stage 3 fairly soon and ED is working on 3rd gen race covers for the S300's and I plan to have one shortly after they are finished!

So will the Flux 2.1's be a good choice or just go with 2's??

2.1 would be 105 hp I think since .1 = 5 hp. The 100 hp injectors will get you there pretty easy. I tow 24k gcw with my 100 hp injectors with my smarty on either 1 or 3 with no problems. I dynoed mine on #1 which I usually tow with and did 594 hp and not much difference with the higher levels so the stage 3.5 cp3 should easily get you there with either choice.
 
i know the cr and the 12v are different but i run lil 90hp injectors with my 64/71/14 and it will light almost as fast as the stocker no problem I would suggest a quick spool type manifold and gasket match it while ur there.
 
I ran Flux 3's on my turbo buddy without a problem. But then again, I never had the Wicked pump before either and I have a 03-04 truck.

Hmm... I kinda thought the in between Flux's went in 10hp increments, 2.1's are 110's, 2.2's are 120's, 2.3's are 130's and so on...??

Brian didnt you have a 64 for awhile? I see you have a 66 now but did you run the 64 with the 100hp sticks, how did it manage with temps when towing?

Unless you can turn stuff way down...or have lots of water or head work...I think 3's are too much for that single in non race applications.

Its all about how you drive it...but I bet it would be safe to safe...you could never be below 2-2.2k on the tach and move enough air to keep cool.

Yeah I know the 3's are way too much, i was just kinda curious how Joey's truck did with them and a 64...

Normally when I tow my Dad's dump trailer with a load of stone (5 ton of CR6 and trailer weight's 4k) I have to tow over a pretty steep mountain and I try to keep my RPM's right between 2,600 and 2,800 in 4th gear and EGT's will stay right between 900-1000* with what is in my sig right now...

The manifold thing is a good point and Im planning a 2nd gen manifold swap SOON!!
 
go with a 160hp, maybe even that 200hp injector if you plan on upgrading the pump too. it will light the 64 quickly. going to stock software and things stay smoke free and work well surprisingly

Towing tho, I have no idea, I don't. however my EGT's are near stock when cruising around. 700egt@70 give or take 50.

I'm looking to do 750 on sw5-ish with the small changes i'm making. I dunno if it will work, but we'll see.
 
buddy, brian is 100% correct, .1 = 5hp flux 1 = 50, 2=100, 3=150, so a flu 2.3 would be 115, 2.4 120........ flux 3's would be killer on your truck, I think.

I had a 62-71-13 before this one and it was getting warm on the topend towing 24k gcw. My next truck I will start with atleast a 64 and go from there. This is my fourth turbo and it is great for towing long grades. I just keep the rpms over 2000 and sometimes I will keep her in 5th at about 3-3200 and it keeps below 1300 no matter what's behind me. Gotta love the manuals and bigger turbo's.

Jason Im pretty dang impressed with your truck man, but I would like to see what a setup like yours would do while towing a heavy load with that big of injector.... Im just not sure a 64 would be enough to keep things cool without water.... witch is on the list for my truck, but wont be able to get a water kit for awhile....

Hey Mike thanks for clearing that up for me dude!!

It doesn't tow. :) The volvo gets the groceries too. Just hauls my fat butt around really fast. I suppose I could get a trailer from one and pull. but there aren't to many grades in the twin-city areas like out in the mountains.

But, what I can tell you is with a big injector and stock software it's rather tame, like it had a 120hp edge chip on it, just less smokey. Max boost I saw with stock software was 35psi.
