65 Chevy Perkins swap

65 chevy body on a 79 suburban 4x4 chassie with 354 Perkins 4sp.
my buddy Vance just picked it up ysterday going today and lood at a pickup bed for it and take off the flatbed not going to start working on restoring the body til done with my ford and get it out of the garage plans are to put a Nv4500 out of a chevy and put 3.55 gears and take out the 4.11 it only will run 62mph
it wasn't scabbed together just need some details tutches.and cleaning up some thing and paint he likes the yellow and black the truck is quit out the exhaust alittle qiuter than my perking in the Ford.

Sweet!! I have a friend with an 1130 Massey Ferguson with the same motor. All pulling tractor, makes 600-650 HP and turns 5200 rpms. Total underdog but pure awesomeness.

Thanks guys for the kind words Vance will like hearing them.Dan found a bed on Craigs list and Vance and Dan and I went and picked it up wednesday afternoon.The bed came from Texes no rust just a couple of very small dings.

Took a couple of more pictures in front of my house looks alittle better.the heater core is not flowing on hose is hot the one coming out is cold deffinetly clogged up.

To cold out side at the moment to make much more progress.when I get my truck out of the garage afto get Vance's 99 superduty in ther for a 24v P pump twins trans plant.

Just kidding my neighbor made a comment the other night that the motor looks like the one in my ford and my politly said noway in h--l the ford looks that bad I was proud of her for sticking up for old Perky.:ford:

Some day the engene conpartment will be al cleaned up and painted and shinny from the paint put no polishing of any kind.Going to try to make it look like it came from the factory with a diesel.

My wife likes the body style of the 65 cheby better than the 72 cheby we have.
Yes it is a litlle boxie also.

Vance took the duels off and put the new tires on his 97 dodge and got some new singles for the old chevy going to look good when the stock bed gets on.

Dans been working on the bed.I have my old 372 perkins back we'er going to use the pump and lines and filters and injectors.And swap the complete head and manifold also.The head has been slightly ported.
