whats the best 2.6 or 66mm turbo for pulling and street driving for a 12v

I liked my SB it had a little lag but what 66 ain't.

Street driving joe I like the sledpuller 66, with a tight convertor. You could light it at the line easily. There is no question the prostreet 66 and silver bullet do better on the track though. Do you want a 2.6 or a 2.5 charger? I thought ITPA was picking up a 2.5 rule. Lots of it will depend on gearing and tire size. Your gonna have a hard time fueling a 66 past 4000 in my opinion, without making lots of heat. I think it is more the exhaust side chokes down at that rpm.

I think with a sled behind me this charger will do better! I like it so far! Can't get the dang thing hot it cools awsome where SB I was seein 1800+.

next year it seems, buddy of mine is a mechanic and did alot of overhauling 12v's a few years back...said he had some spare parts...and would trade me a p-pump, timing cover, and other misc parts for a smarty :D

I'll have more fuel for this year tho in a few weeks

I have the SPS 66 and like it. The hottest I can get it on the street is about 1300 degrees. Haven't had the chance to hook to the sled yet.

ive heard the sledpullers 66 surge alot on street. Ill prolly run a 2100-2300 converter and start off with 4.10s and prolly head to 4.88s when i swap in the 80. I havent heard from Itpa yet, i seen they raised the rpm to 4800 now in street.

I had zero surge from my sled puller. I haven't seen a good rating for stall on a turbo charged vehicle yet. If you can't get on the charger, then the stall will be very low. Stall speed for one convertor with the sled puller was about 2000, when I put a scheid lightning on the stall speed was 1400.

For the most part pick the tightest convertor you can that will let you light the charger. I would go with a 15 bladed stator, or perhaps a stock stall triple disk for a 66 type charger. If you want to have it do well on the track get the larger turbine wheeled ones(SPS, prostreet, or maybe a silver bullet).

I would be very careful hooking with the 70 Joe, you will end up with a rear end that is worth about $400 fixed, and it will probably cost you $350 to fix it. Just put the 80 in and go. I am not 100% sure that the 4.88 is the gear to go with in the 2.5/2.6 class. I think it might be too low. I haven't sat down lately and looked, but I am gonna guess a 2.6 charged truck isn't gonna do well much over 4000rpm. You might be able to get the 4.30 and run drive very well.

I think your gonna run out of air with a 66mm charger when you get much over 4k. Hopefully they will even have a tune for 4k on the common rail. If you can run 4.88's and then select a higher gear you might be all right. If your just looking for a little more so you can get a little extra rpm's out of like 5th low it might be a good setup. 4.30's when be good for an easy pulling 2nd high or with 4.88's I might even try 5th low:drive: .

I don't have any of the surging issues either with mine on the street.

4.88's and a 66 is gonna be bad , you won't hitt 4800 with a 66 atleast not maintain 4800. I had 4.88's in destroked even when it was a auto it wouldn't hold 4800 it would do it on the shifts but that is it.

and my 70 lasted almost 1 hook so I would change it know so it doesn't effect your season .

Depends on the track and the setup. You hit one bad spot on the track and it is toast.
