Anybody out there know where I can get my hands on an old GMC 478 toro flow v6 diesel?
My father and I have enough pieces and parts left from his 69 GMC k2500 project to build another truck, a 68 k2500.
When I worked for GM I was a diesel tech, I found out about the 478 toro-flow. I never actually worked on one, but have researched plenty they actually look to have performance potential in the design features. Most had a pump that looks like the one on a 1066 IH, but I ran across one 351 that had a dodge HX35W and an inline pump in a 70 gmc c2500 years back. I thought it would be neat to find a 478 as it would be a semi-bolt in swap and look factory-esque. Maybe show up at a few sled pulls and be different.
