8.3 cummins/Allison 6 speed. How much power can it handle

Check out Ebay. There are some on there now with sleepers. Its just hard to find them with the 8.3 cummins. Most have Cat 3126 or Mercedes engines. The Cat engine is stronger I think, but I bet they are expensive to work on. i have driver on with the Mercedes, it was pretty weak.

The 6CT is far better than the Kat 3126. The Cummins will hold up to the high power way better, unless you do some fancy machine work to keep the valves in the Kat.
 
You need a retarder from a B300R or a B400R, they were built for transit buses mostly, they arent to hard to find but they can be costly.
