So in being prepared for maybe having to get a new p-pump Ive seen a ton of 8.3L pump for sale for pretty cheap. Do these bolt right up and work with our motors?? Can we use all the ame stuff out of a P7100 and pput in one of these? Any benifits? Down side?

I didnt know if these could flow more fuel than a regular 12mm p-pump or give some kind of advantage. Seems as though these are a bit cheaper than a stock P-pump and look like they could help me out quite a bit!

I have heard that the cams in the 8.3 pumps are not desirable for our trucks. Other than that I don't know.

This is what I was told as well. They said the fuel delivery is too slow for a 5.9. Thats really all I know Boss

If the cam is the same as the 160, i realy wouldnt be gaining anything. I have seen a few being used and for sale for pretty cheap. But I havent heard of anyone commenting on them.

I know the AFC is a bit different, but other than that, they look the same.

Maybe I should just break down and get a worked over 180......

I run 8.3 pump in my truck, small modification is needed, but its besically bolt on.
Just use search and you can find few topics about it.

Yeah the 8.3L pumps feed oil from the gear case housing thru the front cover etc.. ie they have no external line feed like a 5.9L pump.. You could modify your 5.9L gear case or have the 8.3L pump modified to oil like a 5.9L.. I have a 8.3L pump, I was attempting to modify a 5.9L gear case to match the 8.3L front oil port etc..then I found a 5.9L pump ..So I stopped messing with the idea etc..8.3L pump is still on my bench etc
Good luck, Happy Easter,
Deo
