800 hp fueling

Well I'd try the injectors first cause you can always swap covers size after. It may run good after you do the injectors. If it does then your not out any $$$ from swapping covers. What's your boost numbers to DP numbers ? Pretty close to each other ?

Currently do not have a DP gauge... Injectors are still a few months out, unless anyone has a set of 100%s that they wanna get rid of ;)

Riley, I'd try injectors and a tuning change for them before swapping covers. Maybe you just can't get enough fuel to drive the turbo hard. My truck barks the turbo when it hits 3rd locked and even worse in O/D locked. I just don't have the power to keep on top of it yet.

My personal recipe for 800+rwhp in my early '07 5.9 daily driver.

Billet wheel 467.7/83/.90
Exergy 100% over full body injectors
Stainless Diesel 2nd gen swap
Air Dog 100gph lift pump
Dual, stock Cummins cp3's
EFI tuning from Lavon
Firepunk comp 2

This setup has consistently been over 800hp at the tires and my track times back up those numbers. Best dyno pull with the 467.7 was 841hp/1396tq, my only limiting factor being the lift pump that is absolutely at it's ragged edge.

I've since went to a billet 468/87/1.0 to try and alleviate some drive pressure and managed to pick up 9hp.

I'll also be upgrading to an Air Dog 165 this spring to see what else it has left in it.

Billet wheels aren't required and would save you some cash to just do a cast wheel and cast wheels are ligheter and easier to spool. Not just opinion either it's been proven. Unless your spraying it no need to have a heavier billet wheel. That may be another option for you to swap to a cast wheel and see how it spools then. Mine spooled 200rpms sooner then with a billet. Only reason I went to one is worried of over spool from my big primary. But my 6.7 is a different air flow machine vs yalls 5.9.

Will do Jared. Mine barks when it goes into O/D.

Thats a sweet setup man! almost identical to what I plan on doing! glad to see its producing those numbers. How is the drivability and smoke? Did it clean up when you put the bigger injectors in there?

It cleans up nice IMO.

Like said by 1stgen, the added heat will help maintain spool when rpms fall off. Just always remember thermal expansion and velocity drives the turbines. Too much gasses in too tight of a housing can have the opposite effect and cause surging in addition to drive pressure obviously.

Is the 87 over 83 much slower to spool. Being you have direct comparison between the two is it worth it for 9hp. Thanks

Honestly, maybe a few hundred rpm slower if that? They are so close it's hardly even noticeable.

Dual stock cp3s are next on the list. I just installed the GPD fuel boss mechanical lift pump and filter setup. No problems what so ever so far!

I thought 425s are able to hold down close to 1k at the wheels? I could be mistaken though.

Another question, If I get 100% overs will that help with egts and and increase my drive pressures? I have a hard time keeping the turbo happy when I go up steep inclines. (I live in Montana)

What part of mt I'm in gf

I'd go with a 67/83/.90 vs the 87 cause even its only 200rpm slower spooling with stock cams we these trucks are only making good power to 3,500 rpms so 200 rpms sooner helps every little bit esp towing or racing.

Ah ok if your ever around gf hit me up. I'm putting on a ball bearing s467 this yr and going to Missoula to dyno it we should go at the same time I'm shooting for 800+ this yr too

Just wanted to share with you guys how well some 60% overs can fuel. This is with a 10mm Motorsport Diesel CP3. There's still more injector left, just had to drop duration to keep RP up. This is uncorrected as well. Corrected number was 881HP.

That's a solid strong pull.

That's pretty awesome I would have never expected to see the 60% overs do so well I want a 67.7 so bad it's ridiculous but I can't run one in the third gen location

You can if you don't run the race cover
