913 pump going to shop

p-pump fixing to go to shop to have barrels maxed flowed and balanced anything i should or can do to get the best results. was planning on taking fuel plate and afc out. will smokems gsk have any effect on results. lemme express my concern i sent another 215 pump, no previous history known about it, to the shop already and got it back w/ less than average results 26ml @ i think 40. before the pump was sent i took the fuel plate and afc out. performed smokems gsk. any direction is appreciated. sorry for the ramble just hate to feel like i wasted my money again. :bang
 
I would guess that most really don't know how to tune it right so their thinking is I want all the fuel the pump has and I want it NOW, not when the AFC lets me have it. I have a pump off of my brothers and I's 2wd and the AFC is not going to be gutted. I intend on learning how to tune these ppumps.
 
the afc is ONLY comming out for the bench tune. will i get better results with the afc in on the bench or am i missing something. it is going to the same shop again they are local, reputable and i trust them.
 
Why do you trust them if you weren't happy with the results on the last pump they tuned for you? I'd expect roughly the same results...

A properly modded and setup AFC will not limit your max fuel.
 
3 pumps were sent mine was the only one w/ sub-par results. i blame it on the unknown pump. thanks smokem will the modified governor springs have any affect on pump behavior on the stand?
