92 School Bus motor

Just wondering if this motor is internally the same as pickup trucks. Guy says it has a 190hp p pump on it. Wondering if 650 hp and 5000 rpms are capable with this motor and still be reliable.

i just got a 94 out of a bus looks the same i am going to use the p pump setup on my 90 motor so will find out. if not iam out 300.00 and i have scrap lol.

I don't think the cam in the 190 pumps is too favorable for performance applications. I don't remember who I heard that from, so you might want to do a little searching around on here.

I have heard the 190 pumps don't fuel as hard and the timing is different in the plungers, and if you put one on a 215 engine you need to run atleast 20* of timing to get it to run decent at all.

i have a 12v out of a 1992 schoolbus. it has a 190hp ve pump on it.
