found a 93 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive ex. cab longbox, manual tranny. I noticed that it had a Banks pyro and boost guage on it. Mileage in the ad stated 266k. Assuming that the truck has been properly serviced I think that it may be a good buy at $3500.

Are there any little things motor or tranny wise that I may want to look at? What gear ratio do you think it may have? How about mpg? I want to use the truck as a daily driver; roughly around 150 miles a day.

I have never owned a gm diesel before let alone a mechanical style diesel so I kinda hope it is worth getting.

Well unless the fuel screw has been played with extensively you should be able to pull 20+ mpg out of the ol' girl... As for gears, either 3.55's or 4.10's but more than likely 4.10's. I would also try to beat them up on the price, not much since the Banks kit adds a bit of value, but try for an even $3,000 maybe.
