i'm new with the whole ve pump cummins, i have a stock 93 intercooled cummins ex cab, auto w/over drive.. all i have done is the fuel pin turned 180*, and 6x.016 injectors (yes it smokes like a coal train), nothing is really done to the pump besides the pin, i just raced a duramax with a edge juice w/at stage 6 unlocked, propane, and water/methonan. i believe he runs 14"s in slc ut.
i would love nothing more to walk on him with my work truck, i don't want nitrous, so thats out.
any advise??? thanks :charger:

I have a ve 93 as well.

Swap in a p-pump setup or get a newer truck is the cheapest way to do things in the long run.

i have two p pump'd trucks, a 97 and 96 both, the ninty seven will keep up with him and start to pull in fifth, my ninty six just walks away from him like he's sleeping behind the wheel, he happens to be my brother, ha but i would love to whoop his trash in the ol' flat bed.

You're running 6X.016's with a stock auto and stock timing?

The best thing you could do is upgrade the auto. I've read Dodge put very sloppy converters in out trucks, because they didn't know what the Cummins would do to the drivetrain. I've been told they should be about 60% efficient right now. Call Dave Goerend for you transmission needs. He is the only guy I would trust with a 1st Gen transmission. Most guys don't know Dodge made a truck before '94.

6X.016's love timing. At the very least the pump should be to the head, if not skip a tooth or two.

You say you turned the fuel cone 180*, but did you make sure it is set to the deep part? It isn't always 180* to the deep part of the cone. I would suggest getting a DennyT cone for the most performance, or if you aren't worried about working the truck or mpg's, then take the AFC lever out all together, which will render the cone useless, and the truck will be in full fuel mode all the time.

As far as turbo, a 62/71/14 is the perfect turbo for a 1st Gen. No bigger, no smaller, in my and many others opinion.

With all that fuel, the stock lp is useless, and I'm sure you can pull it to zero psi now, so you should upgrade that as soon as possible. I'm not sure how a piston lift pump would work out with 6X.016's, so your best bet would be with an electric pump, such as FASS or Airdog. You should also upgrade your fuel lines to 1/2".

A 4" exhaust and BHAF are things you may want to look into as well. Along with either a set of Coolertubz or a 24 Valve airhorn to get rid of the 1st Gen restrictions in the intercooler department.

That should get you along pretty well.

Edit: I forgot some pretty simple things as well. :bang

You should turn your fuel screw 1/2 turn from runaway, and install a 366 spring, which allows the pump to FUEL to 3200RPM instead of the stock 26-2800 RPM.

thank you, i'll get going on that, i just picked the truck up about a month or so ago, for a steal and i bought the injectors from the seller as well, i had Ken Jones at Wild Diesel do my fuel cone so, i have a pretty good feeling he did it right. i think that we might have an extra air dog running around the ranch so that'll probably be the first thing i put on. thank you i'll let you know how it all works.
