I've pulled a buddies truck that had it installed it worked fine to me. You have to get a little bit of a roll going to engage it in completely not much though. But You def. never have to worry about the vacuum again. He said it wasn't too bad to install.

Haven't installed one, but drove trucks with them. The big advantage for me is the piece of mind knowing my 4x4 can't take a dump when I need.

I had one on my truck and it worked as long as you made sure it was locked in--- I installed it because it was 100% mechanical, advice above is dead on---chris

2wd Low

For those of you that have used it is the 2wd Low a benefit to have?

If it is then it is easier to justify the money on the kit because I can get a new vacuum actuator for $110. A 2wd Low kit from pack brake is 100 so there is the difference in my justification, that and the mechanical design over vacuum dependence.

Get it, you will not be disappointed. I lost the suck-suck one in a snow storm back in '06 on my '01. It took all of 2 hours to install, but that was because it was 2° out when I putit in. Had to do a lot of warming up. Also, you might want to replace the fork at the same time as mine was worn pretty good. With a little work, you can engage the front axel by turning the steering wheel back & forth while pulling the knob out.

We've got one on dads 99, it was in the truck when he bought it, and I've been having problems with it. It doesn't stay locked in. When its locked in a gets under load it pops out. If I hold back on the cable it'll stay locked which makes me think its adjustment I just know nothing about it.

Sorry to jack the thread but if anybody knows whats wrong I would apreciate it.

Brian
