95 12v head loaded

I have a head for sale off a 95 engine. Approx 160,xxx miles, #60lb valve springs. Bone stock no porting or anything. Has two hairline cracks between the injector bore and exhaust valve. I believe its on cylinders 4 and 5. I cant see them with the naked eye but they were visible while being magnafluxed.

Sorry to give ya bad news but its really worthless, I had the same problem with mine and just took it to the scrap yard. Not really repairable.
 
I'd imagine there are many heads out there running just fine in much worse shape.

Saying it is scrap could be a bit much.
 
I would take it but most people won't ship. The one on my pulling truck had cracks from every valve to injector hole on every cylinder Ran 3 seasons no problem.
 
Mine had 3 cracks valve to valve and lost compression. Injector to valve might be different but wasnt trying to be mean about it. Good luck with sale.

Bump will trade for T4 manifold, a nice set of DV's, or maybe an external gate.
 
I've only seen a couple cummins heads that DIDN'T. Have some hairline cracks while being magnafluxed!! Id run it!

Also he can have the head o-ringed, resurfaced or whatever you want if you wanted to pay to have it done before it were shipped!
 
Every 12v head I've pulled off has had those cracks. I've been told by many reputable ppl that it's normal. I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

It's not as big of a deal as people make it out to be.
The '89-'91 non-intercooled heads are worse about it, but it's hardly a major problem even with those.

I guess if that's how you want to look at it. I misunderstood when it said loaded head then click on the thread and it says, bone stock head never ported with 60 lb springs and cracks. When I saw "loaded" I was thinking it would be more than a stock cracked head with 60 lb springs.
 
Understood.

Nobody likes a smart asss when it comes to selling parts. The loaded with cracks comment was not necessary that is all.
