98-02 Gauge cluster lights

I put a gasser gauge cluster in my 24v today. Everything works fine except I get a Maint Req'd light on the dash, probably due to it missing a VP and APPS. Pulled the cluster out thinking I could just pull a bulb like I did with the check engine light. It obviously doesn't just pop out like the bottom row of instrument lights. Are they LED's in the upper row of lights? Easiest way to disable? I'm assuming take the thing apart and cut the LED out, but I want to confirm before I take the whole thing apart and possibly FUBAR it.
 
Find the circut for the light and hit it with 12v....LED's will usually die around 6-9v. Try and trace the wiring to find ground because a LED is a diode and it will only let power travel from positive to negitive. Then use some wires and zap it!
I did this on my "Check Eng" light when I P-pumped my 01...now there is no more annoying light.
 
Its either a 98 or a 99. The one with the calculator style LCD odometer.
