I've got a 98 3500 5spd dually 2wd 12 valve. I bought the truck to resale. Its got 190600 miles on it. 3:55 gears. Interior is in decent shape. Has 2 small tears in the center console and in the drivers seat. Has power seats and windows. Has A/C but the lines are gone from the dryer to the compressor and the condencer. The clear coat is coming off the hood. there is a dent in the bed side above the dually fender. One fender is busted. Needs 4 back tires. Truck is completely stock. The bad news is the truck has a cracked piston. Fuel gauge works off an on. If it doesn't sell in a few weeks I'm going to part it out. Just make me an offer on it. I can send pics jus give me a email address or phone number. Any qestions give me a call.

Thanks

Well, with NV4500 conversions going for upwards of $1500 plus, and P-pump conversions should bring $1000-$1200.

I'd say that $2,000 would be a really good STARTING point.

My comment was based only on the parts I mentioned, minus a few hundered dollars, it'll part out for way, way more.

What would it take to replace a piston?
MAYBE a Grand with gaskets, a piston and R&R the engine?
I'm seeing even 2wd 1 tons bringing over 4-6 grand for this era.

I'm interested, but all I have to offer is 1st gen "junk" and noone's buying at the moment.

I read your post wrong the first time. There is a truck about like this one only a year older and 100k more miles sold a few days ago down the road from me for $4900. Like I posted in the original post if it doesn't sell complete I'll jus part it out. It being Xmas time probly don't help much either though.

Chris

Nobody has shown me any money yet so if the truck does not sell by Monday the 28th I will start a new thread with a list of parts and prices.

Chris

You should part it out then. Having to tear into it. I would only be willing to pay 1500.00 If it were a turnkey truck then you might get what you want for it. Not many are willing to buy something that needs repairs like that.
