Hello everyone!
A family friend is having a problem with his 98.5 Dodge with the 24valve Cummins engine.
When he starts it up in the morning it starts fine then after 2-4minutes of idle it starts to miss and starts to cut out but keeps running, he shuts it off and then restarts it and it runs fine. Everything is stock such as injection pump and injectors except for the fuel transfer pump which he had replaced with a Fass DDRP(direct replacment) by a good local shop. My friend spoke to the lead man at the shop and he said it sounded like a electrical problem not a fuel problem as it only happens when it is first started in the morning or left idling for about 5-7 minutes after it has been driven and warmed up. He has a edge programer that he unplugged and it solved the problem for about 2 weeks then this morning it started doing it again. It still hasnt thrown a code. Im hoping someone can point me in a good direction on what to check for sensors or if it sounds like the injection pump or something else, I am a 12valve guy and all the sensors and the problems they could cause on a 24valve engine I am still learning on. :bang
I have not had a great deal of time to search and read on the forums if there is a thread out there somewhere please point me in the right direction.
Any help would be great!
thanks!

Does he have a pressure gauge that can tell how much pressure the FASS is putting out?

I dont think he does, but Ive got a call into him asking. Ill let you know as soon as he returns my call.
thanks!

He doesnt have a gauge, but the shop tested it and it has 12psi under load and if he recalls 16psi at idle, when he was told that info it was a couple weeks ago so his memory is a little fuzzy.
