98 d60 front axle problems

my front end doesnt want to work in 4x4 ive been fighting this for a while ive put on 2 actuators a t case switch the vac pres seems ok but still only works when it wants to. Now it pops a little in 4x4 im thinkn my slide collar isnt sliding far enough? im puttin a posi loc on it. is there anything else i can do to help it slide on the axle splines more with the actuator it only seems to go on the axle about 1/4 inch.. that doesnt seem like enough 2 me. could it have a shorter axle??

Nah, it doesnt take much. there is only about a 1/4ish inch of movement, you will find that in the notes when you get your posilok...

I put one in mine, and love it... especially the 2wd low.. makes backing down HEAVY trailers with the 5spd a bit... easier...

But, anyway, you just need enough collar engagement to make full contact with the splines...
