Truck is a daily driver, running around the 400hp mark, built HTS trans, wheels on the weekends. What gears would you guys run? I believe it currently has 3.54s. I dont think gears as low as gassers run is needed, I was almost thinking 4.10s would be the ticket.

Thanks,

4.10s would still be a bit high, but with a built tranny it might be ok. If it was mine I'd be looking for some 4.56s or 4.88s. I don't like my 3.55s with 35s they must really suck with 40s.

If you are interested my truck has 4:10 axles and would love to maybe work up a trade mine is a 2000 so they should be the same thing. P.M. me

I'm not sure if they make the 4.30's for the Dana 70, but they would work great.

I had 39.5's with 4.56's, now I have 41's, with 4.56's

...I think you'd be extremely happy with 4.56's

1st why in the hell would you daily drive with boggers, if you must have the swampers id go w/ a big radial like iroks or something, your going to hate them, I have a tubed out k5 on those tires and run it when the dd is down and I could never imagine driving it everday w/ those tires

and to answer your ? 4.56s

This guy sounds like he has run bias plys before. Trust me, if you daily drive it, loose those POS bias plys. I have run 39.5's and 38's on my 5spd with the 3.55's and it is definately boggy but still runs suprisingly well. I would go with 4.10's personally but for a little more pep and higher highway rpms go with 4.56.

The beauty of your setup brandon is that with the big tires and tall gears you actually get some hang time in the gears.

Here is comparsion with different gear ratios and wheel size

40 inch wheel with 4.10 -> is equal to 35 inch wheel with 3,54 ratio

35 inch wheel with 4.1 ratio -> is equal to 40inch tire with 4,56 ratio
