A/C clogged with dirt?

Has anybody ever seen this? Found the orifice tube clogged and wanted to see if it was metal from the compressor. It looks and feels like dirt. I've just never seen this inside an a/c system.

YUP compressor is shot or the dryer came apart! Either way replace everything Run a cleaner thru the condenser and evaporator if any of that comes out replace it!
 
Agreed. Probably the compressor. Frankly at that point everything needs to be replaced. I guess you could check components with cleaner... but that crap is almost certainly everywhere. Expensive repair, and time consuming.
 
I effed up then. They had already replaced compressor, liquid line and dryer. I told em it was a gamble, but I could try to clean the system. It lasted a day.........
