Dont want to know what tire just the difference between near bald or new tread.

Seems like most of you like new tires. I seem to have better hooks with near bald tires in back. I run new aggesive in front but only run near bald A/T or near bald M/T in back. Maybe because its a dually make a difference here? Seems to me the more tread the more dirt I throw to the sled.

I think it would be a good idea if you weren't hanging weights...$.02

More aggressive tires on the front than on the back and hanging weights = breakage. Just my opinion!

The wieghts up front is probably not making that big of a difference since the suspension is being lifted up front while he's in the throttle. I still believe the breakage he is seeing is from the Mickey Thompson Claws he has up front. Thats all I've seen them good for.

Back on topic, it all depends on how the truck is setup. A truck with a good working suspension and has alot of bite in the rear would be better with used and wore out tires. Reason for this is with the shorter tread, the carcase of the tire helps hold the truck on top of the ground instead of digging ditches. THis also helps by not allowing the front end to pick up as much and keep the front tires planted better. But in order to get that setup to work properly you must have a good balance through out the truck with the weight placement (all up front isn't always best) traction bar setup, and hitch setup. A truck that doesn't hook up that well on the rear would bennefit more at the starting line with a more aggressive tire. Depending on how much dirt it slings in front of the sled, and how deep of a ditch it is digging on the far end will determine how much it is hurting or helping the truck. That is one reason why I recommend an All Terrain Tire over a mud terrain. If you notice the promod trucks and super stock tractor tires, the cleats are not that tall. Maybe 1/4-3/8" and thats it. This gives them all kinds of bite, but it keeps the truck on top of the ground.

alot of it depends on what kind of track your pulling on. I have ran both and like the new ones over bald one. I change my joints a few times a year so i dont have to worry about breaking them, I dont skip on cheap u joints eighter.

I'm not breaking while pulling I've only broke while spooling before the truck has moved. So dont blame my tires for my breaks. I'm just making minor changes right now on my tires and was wondering if everyone else has found.

im running swamper truxs M/T and hang 800 lbs out front i like the M/T over A/T but it depends on what kind of tracks you have in your area.

Last year i was runing bald nitto terra grapplers and did very well with them.
