Well this was at a local fair a few weeks ago in the street class. The truck goes down the track really well and doesnt bounce or anything, but im wanting to get a few more RPMs going down the track. In the i pulled in 4th 4low and going down the track it was around 2600-2800 rpm's. I bring the truck up as high as it will go and ride the clutch as little as possible. Would like to see over 3200 rpms going down the track. Any sugguestions guys? Here's a link to the vid.

Of course more power will give you more rpms, but if you want to stay at the same power level, you may try dropping down a tire size. Looks like your truck really likes that gear, so I would try to add some more power along with some good valve springs.

i forgot to mention i actually have some 250hp injectors in now to see if i can get the rpms i want out of it ik its gonna run out but its only gonna be when i pull (10-15 seconds). I think my limiting factor now has to be the HO vp44 it was prolly maxed out when i was running the 150s

I would also suggest getting a Smarty to stack with the Edge, or just get a red line. A p-pump conversion would also be a plus.

I've always heard mixed opinions on the smarty for top end high rpms? Will it give me more R's or just a stronger bottom? Been thinking of redline and a p pump. I'd prolly p pump it before i put all that money into electronics but its still my DD and would like to keep it streetable. Hopefully i will be able to built my puller this winter and then pull this truck on the side

The Smarty Should atleast get you up to around 3500rpm. I would also ditch the H.O. pump for a S.O.

The HO pump isn't that bad... I pulled with mine for awhile and it will handle big injectors. The Attitude isn't all that great IMO though. A Drag Comp would be better... Do you have the HOT unlock on the attitude? That might help too.

Why do you say the juice isn't all that great? It is the exact same thing as a comp box except it uses a monitor.

Yea thats what i was thinking as well???

But yes i do have the hot unlock on my juice. If i could get 3500 out of it with a smarty that would be great!

Well on my first pull the other weekend I pulled 3400rpm down the track with my juice/w attitude NON hot. But we seem to think my truck may have had a Jim Jessup tune on the ECM when I bought it. Which supposedly is the same thing as SW 9 on the Smarty.

Get a redline! You can pick up one used for around $800 but its not very street friendly, i think we finninaly have got my truck to pull between 3700-3900 down the track which is right where i would like it to be!

I hit 3566 with the juice/hot unlock down the track. Have seen 3750 with the smarty stack pulling. But the redline is were its at I hear!

I've been led to believe that there is actually different programming between the two... though most people believe they're the same. But like Kman said, the Redline would be best, I had one, but decided to p-pump before I even tried it.

Hey whippit didnt you pull in 3rd low tho? That would make your truck turn higher rpms. Also whose injectors you running? Seems like right when i let the clutch out it hooks up with no tire spin, i would like to get the tires spinning to hold the rpms above 3k and then pick up speed after about the 100' mark. I'd love to give the redline a try but if i could get around that 3300-3500 mark id be happy and i think my truck would be a lot more competive for what i wanna do

edge juice w/a hot is the same as edge comp hot the edge drag is supposed to be like 30 horse higher

Over on CF the Edge represenetive stated that the juice and comp are exactly the same as well as the hot/drag programs.
I agree with with you though that I will end up P-Pumping the truck instead of messing with the electronics.

Yeah Yoshi I did pull in 3rd low, but I'm fairly sure I could have pulled 4th low I was just playing it safe being the first time I pulled the truck. I don't know the brand of injectors I am running, I traded my 150's with someone who bought a truck that was way to aggressive for him for the street. (twins truck) But they are 7x16's, and flow a ton of fuel.
My tires are pretty much shot so that helps me with the wheel speed. But the truck seemed to hook up pretty good about 75-100'. I do think if you plan on sticking with the VP then the Redline would be the best choice to get the rpm's you are looking for.

drag=hot it's the same thing... the hot unlock is the drag version...

But there are different versions of the Comp... heard rumors that some of the older versions of the comp run better...

I dont mean to Hijack your thread but this is Very interesting, I was going to ask this same very question to you guy but mine is a AUTO...

I took first place at our points pull (2.5 class) I ran 3300 rpms. 24mph track speed and 26 mph wheel speed Loose track

This was at a ffa Diesel Open class. I took 3rd place. I seen only 3101 rpms and I ran 23mph track speed and 24 mph wheel speed. Sticky track I should have held it back more like the 1st pull...

I was thinking about trying a redline but being laid off dont leave me much money. I was told yesterday from some one at the track that i should try a smarty as they will fuel more on the top end. Edge stops at 3100 and smarty will go to 3500. Any truth to the rumor? Also what setting should i put it on if i find one? I have a Hot juice, iihrvp, 100hp sticks and a sps62 turbo 4.10 gears, 33 mud terrain tires, and i run 4x4 low 3rd gear locked converter. The highest ive seen on a real loose track is 27mph wheel speed.

What can i do (cheapest way) to get more wheel speed? Was thinking of trying some 35 interco sts.
