What is the difference between the AAM's in Dodges vs the GM's??

Got a friend wanting on of my AAM's I have laying here for his puller, he has a GM in one truck, wants them both to use the same parts.

I'm kinda behind the times on anything newer than a 2nd Gen Dodge, so I need some help!

The only thing I remember is the locker in the Dodge unit is stronger?

can you switch the gears. i have 3.73's in mine under my 03 dodge and am hunting for 4.10's. will the under a chevy work in my dodge aam. both 11.5's

Width's are different Dodges are wider as well. The hubs are different as mentioned but GM factory wheels can be opened up with just a cheap router, it wont pose a problem for aftermarket wheels however.

You'll have a really hard time finding a chevy 11.5 AAM with 4;10's, only the 8.1 could be ordered with 4:10's. Duramax's were only available with 3.73's and the 6.0's all had 10.5" axles.

Yes the gear set will inter change. The housings are casted a little different but the inside dimensions are the same and the covers fit each other.
