Acceptable Turbo Play?

Guys,

I was servicing the truck today and decided just to pull / wiggle the shaft of the air compressor / turbo (vains) and it moved a little more than I thought it should do.

I see no evidence of it rubbing the wall but it did have play of about 1mm in any direction - this is a stock turbo (for now).

Please advise

What Model truck do you have? Is it an HX35 or an HY 35?

I'd have to look at the turbo housing to be sure but it is a 2002, 2500 6spd. 4x4

It is an HX35. The HY35's were on Autos.
I would expect a little plaon a 4 year olsd turbo, are the fins relatively clean?

vanes are spotless - you could eat off them! LOL...

Maybe I will be accelerating my plans for twins?
