I had a tranny builder tell me to take the spring off of the accumulator piston. Said it'll will make it shift like a rock on the 1-2 shift. Is this really the case or did he want to see my tranny again?

the accumulator piston works as a cushion for the shift. so by removing the spring, it will cause the shift to be more firm

I'm not going to do it. I'm just wondering about the facts.

Ive had mine out every since ive had the truck. Ive actually got it blocked up a little. It is a little jaring at light throttle but at WO it shifts smooth. You get use to it but it did take a few months tho.

I don't have mine blocked up at all. But I do have the spring removed. The 1-2 shift is nice and firm. When the T/C is locked, at light throttle, it feels like the trans wants to fall out of the truck it shifts so hard. Personally, I love it.
