Adding 4x4 to my first gen

Anyone out there k ow what all I need to add 4x4 to my 3500. I know a guy with a complete first gen 4x4 that's wrecked but what all does it require doing, such as fabricating also?

I think the engine cross member is different, you have to grind tons of rivets off and i dont think the 2wd frame has all the holes cut out to mount up all the 4x4 stuff. swap tranny. It can be done just make shur everything is square

frames are the same just have to change cross members and drill some holes
