:Cheer:Big thanks goes out to Carey at CSI for modifying my trac bar for my lowered 4x4. He said it was cool to post pics, so here they are.
The work looks good. But that track bar looks scary weak now.I wouldn't put that under the weight of my Diesel. Just my 2 cents.
Bob.
Looks sweet, would he be willing to do another? and do you have any pics of your truck? Im looking to do coils from Coil spring.com but my Thuren will not work so I need another bar, already got the rear situated, Thanks again.
its the same setup that is on the CSI dodge that just ran a 9.51 at Pinks All Out Indy this past weekend. If its good enuf for them, its good enuf for me.
What is the deal with the trac bars. I have alot of sway in my truck and hate it. I only run a 33" tire. I have new BD steering box support, steering box, pump, sway bar links, and staibilizer. Still goes left and right down the road. I'm afraid to get pulled over and tested for dui its so bad. Will this help?
Like I said just my 2 cent. its your truck do what you want. Its just that center adjustment extension is what looks weak to me.I would lose that and run the joint rite into the track bar. Just would have to pull lower bolt to adjust the bar.
Bob.
the threads on the joint are the same as the extension.losing the extension will not give more strength. besides the track bar does not hold the weight of the truck, the control arms and springs do.
track bar looks god but still has the junk joint on the frame side.
you would have to ask him. if he will, it will probably only be on a new bar. His name is Carey, goes by CSIDodge on here. as for pics, the top pic is stock height with a leveling kit on the front and 35's, and the bottom is with the 3" lowering springs from CSS, and I took the rear blocks and overload springs out on the back with some 285/70 17s. Its not done and doesnt have the new wheels on yet, but you get the idea
Are you kidding about the track bar not holding weight? When you are driving down the road and your suspension cycles all that weight that is moving up and down is transfered latterly ie: keeping the axle centered in the vehicle, so the track bar does hold the weight of the vehicle weather it's vertically or latterly weight is weight. The track bar actually sustains a larger amount of weight bearing due to the cycling of suspension. As far as removing the extension I guarantee that extension is weaker than the joint. When you build multiple off road suspensions and go through the trial and error of track bar strength issues and what happens when one breaks, you would have the same concern as I do when looking at the one that was posted.
Bob
Get rid of the stock trac bar and get a third gen bar kit in there from Solid Steel. Much better than a stock bar. You can check it out here.

i would LOVE to see a few pics your multiple "off road suspensions" ! that adjusters just as strong as the joint! and the laterial load on the track bar is minute compared to the control arms, and ive seen alot of crappy a$$ arms on here and other sites!
Did you have to shorten your driveshaft? Have you checked to make sure your yoke isnt burried into the T-case?
